Chinni’s Corner-Mulangi Sambar(Radish Sambar)

IMG_5422
There was a time when a young me- a school going boy would rush home after school into the most welcome care and affection of his ever loving grandmother. Amma as all of so lovingly called her would be well prepared to satiate the hunger of a growing teen. What pleased the boy was a bowl full of hot steamed rice with Freshly prepared Mulangi Sambar. For my North Indian readers, Mulangi is nothing but Mooli in Hindi and commonly known as Radish in English.
Its been a while since I ventured into Chinni’s corner, a combination of lazyness, cricket and a few other jobs kept me away, but my love for food and adventure with words continue almost unabated with yet another round of recipes. I have seen people up North consume Sambar, like soup, their love for South Indian food is unparalleled, and appreciation quite pleasing. I am now wondering how I would like to take this forward to the next logical step, which according to me would be to step into unexplored areas, undiscovered and little known recipes of India. That is enough food for now, meanwhile let me go back to cooking the Mulangi Sambar.
In a cooking pan add mustard seeds to cooking oil, allow to splatter.
